First time patron and we will definitely be back.
Very yummy! I wanted to order the entire menu!! We ordered the tequenos, bandeja paisa, and whole rotisserie chicken.
The tequenos were fresh and tasty. Maybe the breading was a tad undercooked. It was not raw, but maybe could have been a little more crisp. I loved the dip that accompanied the tequenos.
Bandeja paisa was yummy!! So flavorful! Pork belly was devoured instantly. It was crispy with lots of flavor. I loved the arepas! I could have eaten 5 of them!!
The best thing, though, was the rotisserie chicken. Tender, juicy and lots of flavor. I enjoyed the green sauce that comes with it as well.
Price is VERY reasonable for generous portions.
Our waitress was very courteous and attentive.
My only complaint was it was pretty stuffy inside. It was pretty warm and uncomfortable. -

I've been coming here for a while. Always amazing food! La Bandeja Paisa is a must try along with the morcilla and empanadas.

Delicious chicken, Venezuelan, and Columbian food. Limited lunch specials, but the tequenos, cachapas, plantains and arepas are tasty. Try the juices.
My daughter loves this place and has had to make a few of the dishes in the past for her Spanish classes.
We stopped by one time for lunch, and I noticed the big chicken out front turning a $5.99 lunch special sign. I told my daughter I wanted to see what the lunch special was and asked her if she saw the guy in the chicken suit. "Dad, that's a robot." Huhhhhhh???
Anyway, we have been to SPR a few times. Don't take the comments from other reviews too literally...some of the waitresses there know *a little* English...just don't expect to have a long conversation with them. We visited SPR recently on a Friday night and the waitress was VERY bilingual. She was very friendly and she gave us a simple recipe for arepas.
We start with the tequenos, basically finger-sized cheese bread. These things are addicting. Slightly doughy, slightly cheesy. I have to stop myself from ordering them a second time.
Unfortunately, the $5.99 lunch special is only one meal on the menu: a chicken quarter with a tortilla and two sides. I ordered the special with dark meat (white meat is also an option), and I received a rotisserie-style, medium-sized, leg/thigh section. There is a seasoning on the chicken that goes from the skin through the meat...possibly a marinade...and the taste is incredible. I could have easily had another piece.
With lunch, I was given the option to have an arepa instead of a tortilla with the meal. Great choice. This plain, 3-inch, corn cake was fried just right. Not greasy. We ordered some to take home with us, 3 for $1.49...not a bad deal.
My side orders for the lunch special were fried plantains and spicy Mexican beans. Unfortunately, SPR ran out of Mexican beans, so I instead ordered regular red beans, which were still good. The plantains are VERY tasty. Three or four 3-inch pieces of plantain cooked perfectly. They are slightly sweet and melt in your mouth. Get the plantains.
My daughter ordered the cachapa criollo. This is basically a cornmeal pancake with gooey, stringy cheese inside, served like an omelette. I had a couple of bites. This was delicious, and you can taste a few kernels of corn mixed-in the masa. Daughter also had a frozen pineapple drink that she enjoyed, and the drink was only $2.75.
My daughter and wife had the cachapa on a recent visit, but didn't care too much for the fried pork bites that came with the meal. I ate the pork leftovers later. The pork is really good when warmed and dipped in the spicy green sauce.
A must try is the bandeja paisa, which is a delicious Columbian meat combo. The fajita beef, sausage, and chicharones are all very tasty. You also get an arepa, plantains, rice, beans, and a fried egg. Plenty of food.
Overall, good service, but I would like to see more lunch specials. Expect $8-12 for a regular entree. The menu is easy to read, so don't worry too much if the waitresses are not up to speed with their English.
Nice little Katy gem. Worth a stop. -

After visiting several times, I have say... Chicken, Empanadas, Bandeja Paisa, Arepas, Soups, Shrimp Tacos with Mango Sauce, house made Micheladas Sauce, Margaritas and pretty much the whole entire menu plus the warm and friendly service are just outstanding.
One the few favorite place I like to visit even more frequently. Real authentic Colombian, Venezuelan and Mexican cuisine.
